On Tuesday, August 6, 2024, The Pittsburgh Foundation and The Community Foundation of Westmoreland County will host the #ONEDAY Critical Needs Alert. This online giving day supports nonprofits in Allegheny and Westmoreland counties that provide essential human services and basic needs.
Addressing Urgent Needs
Our region faces growing socioeconomic disparities, especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many of our neighbors lived at or near the federal poverty line before the pandemic. Food, housing, and healthcare demand has only increased. Nonprofits work tirelessly to meet these urgent needs and plan for the future, but need help.
YMCA’s Role
The Sewickley Valley YMCA has been selected by The Pittsburgh Foundation to receive funding from the #ONEDAY Critical Needs Alert. Our community will directly benefit from the foundation’s generous support of our vital early childhood care and food programs.
